It is with the heaviest of hearts that we mourn the passing of Bruce Shipley of Barrie, Ontario—a beloved realtor, broker, colleague, and friend whose loss is deeply felt across the real estate community and beyond.
Bruce was a dedicated professional who took great pride in his work with Coldwell Banker, where he served not only as a respected real estate broker but also as a mentor and leader. Since joining the CBTREC family in July 2018, Bruce quickly became an integral part of the team. His commitment to growing the business, particularly through recruiting and supporting fellow realtors, spoke volumes about his passion for the industry and his belief in people.
More than his professional accomplishments, Bruce will be remembered for the kind of person he was. He was warm, approachable, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His sense of humor brought light to those around him, and his genuine kindness made everyone feel valued. He wasn’t just a colleague—he was a trusted friend and a steady source of encouragement.
Bruce’s impact extended far beyond the workplace. As the 2014 BDAR President, he played an important role in shaping the local real estate community, guiding and inspiring others with his knowledge and leadership. He gave generously of his time, volunteering within the Barrie community and building lasting relationships along the way. Whether working, mentoring, or simply sharing a laugh, Bruce made every moment meaningful.
He also cherished life outside of work, enjoying curling with colleagues and friends, and spending time with those he loved most. His devotion to his partner Marcia, his children, and his grandson was evident in all that he did. Family was at the center of his world, and the love he gave will continue to live on through them.
Bruce’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, but his legacy of kindness, dedication, and friendship will never be forgotten. He touched countless lives, and his influence will continue to be felt in the community he helped build.
